This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their own work.

 

The SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing allows you to fast-track your hairdressing career and be working in the industry in just 12 months as a Fee For Service student or 3 years as an apprentice. With this course you will learn how to do shampooing, blow-drying, cutting, colouring, perming, highlighting, foiling, up-styling, and men’s cutting.

 

You will also undertake general salon related units like; client consultation, communication, financial transactions, safety and hygiene, product selling and stock control.

Suited To

Persons interested in gathering the skills equivalent to a qualification in hairdressing. They may include high school students wanting to remain at school while undertaking a VET qualification, school leavers, unemployed, people re-entering the workforce or “out of trade” apprentices wanting to complete the qualification they started.

Entry Requirements

Minimum successful completion of QLD school year 10 or equivalent.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):  Skills gained via work or life experience are recognised and may reduce the duration and fees of the course.

Study Options

Fast track: 10-12 months full-time. Part-time 2-3 days a week.

Apprenticeship or study a partial amount of this qualification whilst at a School in a school based Apprenticeship.
